Eating Habits

As you know, I am in the process of transitioning into the vegan lifestyle. After doing some research I realized that in order for the transition to be successful you need to really inform yourself.

Pinterest was my first stop. I began to look at vegan boards so I could discover some good vegan recipes. Then I looked at Instagram. I followed many vegan intstagram pages so I could get some daily inspiration.

Here are some pictures of some of the food that I’ve been starting to eat a lot more of lately:

I've also been experimenting with smoothies. This is a strawberry banana smoothie with almond milk and chia seeds!

Fruit is my best friend! Pomegranates are just one example of the excessive amounts of fruit I've been eating. I love to snack on apples, bananas, strawberries, and many more.

This is an image of some delicious bean salad. Beans are a great source of protein and they are very filling.

These are just a few examples. I also love to eat an avocado with carrots for lunch, and I snack on almonds quite often.

I just purchased a vegan cookbook so I can learn more, and really get into a routine.

April 2, 2015: My Breakfast

For breakfast today I ate a wonderful egg white omelet. This omelet contained spinach, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and black beans. I also added a bit of salt and pepper on the top.

After the omelet, I ate a bowl of cut up pineapples and cantaloupe. I also added a small stem of green grapes. I also drank a cup of water and a small mug of (NH roasted) black coffee.

The omelet is a great source of protein and the fruit is a great source of complex carbohydrates. Although the fruit contains sugar, fruit is still a healthy choice, and it is better processed within the body when paired with protein.

Drinking black coffee is a much better option than drinking flavored coffee with added sugar or cream.
